The Morris Bart 2024 Back to School Drive Giveaway took place as a two-day giving extravaganza at Carousel Gardens Amusement Park in City Park, New Orleans! On both July 10 and 11, Morris Bart employee volunteers spent a few hours under the oak trees near the entrance of the theme park. There, they handed out backpacks with sealed packages inside filled with school supplies for the upcoming school year, like composition books, colored pencils, pencil cases, and more. Receiving the backpacks were young campers with NORD, the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission.

Unfortunately, the second day of the Morris Bart Back to School Drive Giveaway brought dark skies and heavy clouds that poured down rain just after the event began. Luckily, the Morris Bart employee volunteers were prepared. Decked out in fashionable yellow rain ponchos, the volunteers were able to box up all of the remaining school supplies and load them directly onto the school buses of campers to take back with them.

This year volunteers were able to hand out a record 1,400 bags and supply sets to campers! The Morris Bart Back to School Drive Giveaway takes place every year since 2012 in partnership with iHeart Radio and Q93 FM.
