The UNCF New Orleans Walk/Run for Education will kick off for the 31st time on October 13, 2018. Proudly sponsored by Morris Bart and other community members, this family-focused 5k event offers something for everyone while also raising money to benefit students in need.
The Race Will Help Provide Scholarships to Students in Need
For nearly 75 years, the United Negro College Fund has helped students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities with both financial and technical assistance. By providing scholarships to students from low-income families, the UNCF helps ensure that these students will have the brightest future possible.
The 2018 Walk for Education New Orleans is an important part of UNCF’s mission. Even with annual fundraising efforts, right now the UNCF is only able to grant scholarships to one out of every ten applicants. By sponsoring, volunteering, or participating in this walk/run, you can help UNCF reach its $125,000 fundraising goal and make an important difference in the life of a disadvantaged student.
