Tuxedos, sparkling dresses, afterparties, and some of the most memorable experiences you’ll ever create in your life – oh the tales of prom season!
High School prom night is a sentimental milestone that all teenagers should get to enjoy, and Crimestoppers, Morris Bart, and Q93 did their part to make sure one lucky teenager got a prom she will never forget!
The Spring Bling contest required students from New Orleans area high schools to write essays on how they would handle a friend who’s suicidal. Layla Valteau from De La Salle High School, the winner of the contest, addressed the subject from a personal point of view. In her essay she spoke of an incident with a friend that led her to step up and use her voice. Layla wrote:
I finally understood that it takes a lot to speak up, it takes a lot to save someone’s life…I would instantly say, without any other thought in my mind, that I’d tell someone, anyone.

As the winner of Spring Bling, Layla was granted a $2,500 scholarship, a surprise pizza party/pep rally at her school, and dinner and a limo ride for 10 on the night of prom. The Morris Bart law firm would like to sincerely thank Crimestoppers and Q93 for asking us to sponsor this event for a worthy cause. We wish all high school students a safe and fun prom night!
