It’s time to sound your alarms…or at least help us install some! The Morris Bart Law Firm is teaming up with the American Red Cross “Sound The Alarm. Save A Life” initiative to install 100,000 free smoke alarms inside homes located in at-risk communities throughout the Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas areas.
Statistics reveal that seven (7) people die in home fires everyday, and most of those victims die in homes that are not equipped with smoke alarms. In order to combat this issue and prevent future tragedies, we (along with local fire departments and other groups) are pounding the pavement and going to door to door to install smoke alarms in houses that are without them, replace batteries in existing alarms, and inform families on the importance of fire prevention and safety.
Since its inception, this initiative has successfully been the cause of 1.6 million alarms being installed, over 500 lives being saved, and over 600,000 households made safer.
How can you be a part of this worthy movement, you ask? All you have to do is visit Sound The Alarm website and click “search now” under the volunteer graphic. This leads to a page that will prompt you to type your zip code in a search box for more information. Events in the Mississippi and Louisiana area will be wrapping up shortly so act fast!
