This Year’s Charity Donation Will Support Veterans

Every year, this race offers an “only in New Orleans” opportunity to help the Saints kick off their season while also supporting a local charity. This year, the Kickoff Run will support Bastion, a nonprofit group that runs a New Orleans neighborhood designed specifically for returning Veterans and their families.

All the Details
The Route
The race starts in Champion Square at 7:30 Saturday morning, with runners starting in pre-assigned waves. The race will turn down Poydras Street and then continue through the French Quarter. Finally, the route takes participants right into the Mercedes Benz Superdome with the race ending on the 50 yard line!
Runners will receive a t-shirt and finisher’s medal before enjoying a tailgate party in the New Orleans Saints Champion Square. New Orleans Saints kids will love the half mile fun run for kids that starts at 9:30 and also ends on the field.
How to Registar
You can pre-register for the race and kids fun run on the website, or you can register in person during bib pick-up or on the day of the race. Runners can pick up their bibs on Thursday September 6 at Ochsner Fitness Center in Harahan from noon to 7:30.
Be sure to bring your photo ID and a copy of an ID if you are picking up bibs for yourself and anyone else. Runners registering as a team should look for a seperate pick-up area to collect their bibs and other items.
Parking
If you are driving to the Dome for the race, you can purchase Champion Square parking for $10 at the garage or through the registration link (be sure to print your pass!).
Mini Events Offer Fun for Everyone!
In addition to the main race, the Saints Kickoff Run offers several mini-events that are sure to add an extra element of fun to this annual tradition. The popular costume contest gives fans of all ages a chance to show off their best and wackiest New Orleans Saints Costume. The grand prize is still a secret but in the past the best costume won tickets to a Saints home game!
If you are registering as a team, the Saints Corporate Cup event gives your team a chance to step up the competition. The winning teams in two divisions, large companies and small businesses/clubs, will receive the Corporate Cup trophy and a chance to take a group photo with the award on the 50-yard line.
Even if you aren’t in town but you know what it means to miss New Orleans, the Virtual 5K gives you a chance to join the fun. By registering for the Virtual 5K, participants will receive an official bib number, t-shirt, and Saints finisher medal that will be mailed to them during Race Week.
