For over 100 years, the State Fair of Louisiana has been bringing exciting fun and entertainment to Shreveport, LA. This year’s theme is “Kick Up Your Heels” and true to form the State Fair will be hosting barrel racing, bull riding, and even a rodeo clown!
Not only does the Fair offer over 2 weeks of fun, it also draws over 400,000 people to Shreveport and creates over 300 temporary jobs that contribute to the local economy. Here’s your overview to the fun you can find at this year’s Louisiana State Fair.

The State Fair truly does offer something for everyone. From live music to some of the best concessions in the country, the whole family is sure to be delighted by a day at the fair. In addition to the standard attractions like top-of-the-line rides and livestock shows, the Fair will also bring exciting attractions to Shreveport like the State Fair Zoo, competitive cheerleadings events, and even an antique tractor pull and show.
The Fair also boasts an incredible line-up of free concerts and entertainment. Musicians including Bayou Boogie, Cyprus Spring, Frank Foster, and the Casey Martin Band will be offering live music every day. Do You Have Trouble Getting from One Attraction to the Next? Try the Bart Bus!

Tickets & Dates: What You Need to Know
Tickets
Not only is the Louisiana State Fair sure to offer a full day of fun, but all the attractions come at a great price too! Until October 24 you can buy advance gate admission tickets for $8 or a full day pass including gate admission and a ride armband for $32.
Discounts
On October 25 the prices will go up, but there are still many ways to find a good deal on tickets with special discounts. For example, every Wed through Fri from 10am until 3pm gate admission is FREE!
You can also take advantage of Discount Wednesdays, $2 Thursdays, or a Full Fun Pass for $100 that is good for all 15 days of the Fair.
Dates
The State Fair is open from Oct 25 through Nov 11. It’s closed on Mondays and Tuesdays except for Election Day Tuesday, November 6, when gate admission is just $5 and a ride armband is only $20.
