According to AL.com, a young woman died Saturday morning after her car veered off the road in northern Mobile County. Members of the local volunteer fire department responded to the scene of the accident shortly after 10 a.m. They found the woman’s car flipped onto its side with a wooden light pole resting on top of it.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Safety, responders identified the victim as a 19-year-old woman. She died at the scene. There were no passengers in her car, and nobody else was injured.

Police Officer Involved in Car Accident that Left One Person Injured
AL.com reports on an accident that left one person injured and resulted in a traffic backup late last week. According to a Mobile Police spokesperson, they have been able to confirm that a law enforcement officer was involved in the crash. Though the officer is fine, responders had to transport another woman complaining of injuries to a local hospital.
The accident occurred between a purple Mazda sedan and a plain white police car. Officials have not released any details of the wreck, and traffic finally got back to normal several hours after city workers cleaned up the debris.

High-Speed Chase Ended in a Fiery Crash
According to FOX10TV, a high-speed chase that occurred on I-10 East Bound resulted in a fiery crash. Alabama State Troopers have confirmed that they sent responders to the scene of the crash, which occurred between three vehicles. Luckily, nobody was injured.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office claims Border Patrol initiated the police chase and asked them for assistance. According to officials, the suspect rammed his vehicle into the cars of two deputies who had parked on the side of the interstate while they waited to engage in the high-speed chase. The suspect continued to flee, and the chase finally ended when the vehicle in question started burning due to a gas leak.
Both deputies’ vehicles also burst into flames, but responders were able to extract everyone from the wreckage safely. Apparently both burned police cruisers were new vehicles, but the Sherriff’s Office is just glad none of their officers were injured.
