Kristi Tamura

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Ms. Tamura graduated with College Honors from Washington University in St. Louis with a major in Psychology and minors in Legal Studies and Political Science. Ms. Tamura then moved to our nation’s capital where she studied law at The George Washington University Law School. She received the J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro Public Service Fellowship, which is bestowed on law students who possess high GPAs and undertake voluntary public service.

During law school, Ms. Tamura participated in the Public Justice Advocacy Clinic, assisting with a class action lawsuit against D.C. public schools for failing to provide adequate special education services to pre-school age children. She also served as a legal intern at the Federal Public Defender for the District of Maryland, where she oversaw the cases of clients awaiting sentence reductions related to the amended crack cocaine guidelines.

Ms. Tamura is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. She has worked with Morris Bart as an Of Counsel attorney since 2011.
