It was a whirlwind two weekends of music, food, and culture at the 2024 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Jeff Martinez announced roughly 500,000 fans attended the festival, the second highest attendance figure on record in the Festival’s 53-year long history. This year, Morris Bart was proud to once again sponsor the Gospel Tent for the second year in a row.
One of the most impactful parts of this sponsorship of the Gospel Tent is the provision of tickets for each local church choir member to ensure they are able to invite friends and family to watch them perform and take part in the festivities. While the Jazz and Heritage Festival is a wonderful event and tourist attraction for New Orleans, Morris Bart feels strongly that the Festival should also include a strong presence of locals.
The list of local church choirs who received tickets from Morris Bart this year include:
- Pastor Tyrone Jefferson from Abundant Life Tabernacle
- Joseph the Worker Music Ministry from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church
- The City of Love Music Ministry from City of Love Church
- Connie & Dwight Fitch with the St. Raymond & St. Leo the Great Choir from St. Raymond and St. Leo the Great Catholic Church
- Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church Choir from Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church
- Tyronne Foster & the Arc Singers from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church
- Mount Hermon Baptist Church Delegation Choir from Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Avondale
- New Hope Baptist Church Mass Choir from New Hope Baptist Church

The Gospel Tent was once again a wonderful place for music and worship. Each choir member uplifted the Gospel Tent stage from morning until sunset, rousing the audience to their feet many times. Even Mick Jagger was seen dancing and laughing at the tent. Morris Bart thanked the crowd for spreading the Gospel Tent love and joy throughout the festival and thanked the choirs for their passion. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of the the choir performers for their support and fantastic performances on the Gospel Tent Stage!
Jazz Fest 2024 featured gorgeous weather, a delayed but worth-the-wait performance by the Rolling Stones, and the delicious food and drinks we look forward to every year. It was hard to say good-bye, but we can’t wait to go back next year.
